Abstract

Bile aspiration during endoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy reduces the risk of bile leakage. Mukai and colleagues devised a method in which side holes for bile aspiration are created using a biopsy punch in a hard type ultra-tapered bougie dilator. Effective bile aspiration was achieved in all four cases attempted.<br /> (© 2024 Japanese Society of Hepato‐Biliary‐Pancreatic Surgery.)
