Abstract

CompBioMed is a Centre of Excellence for High Performance Computing Applications, funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program, running from October 1, 2017, to April 1, 2024. CompBioMed develops computer-based tools to simulate each human body in health and disease. The author provides a general overview and then presents his personal opinion on key achievements: collaborations between industry and academia, the two IMAX short films, training to foster a culture of HPC among biomedical practitioners, our free service to port and tune biomedical applications to HPC, providing future supercomputers access to surgery, and bringing FDA-endorsed credibility to biomedical simulations.<br /> (© 2024.
