Abstract

In rheumatology, this year has seen an expansion of knowledge about the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, with the availability of results from randomized trials evaluating a new molecule targeting IL-6, and regarding the safety profile of tofacitinib compared to TNF-alpha inhibitors. Interesting data on the outcome of pregnancy in patients with spondylarthritis have also been published. New molecules and different treatment strategies have shown promising results in psoriatic arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. The utility of botulinum toxin A injections for Raynaud's phenomenon and the efficacy of transplantation of autologous adipose-derived regenerative cells for the treatment of hand dysfunctions have been questioned by 2 randomized controlled trials of patients with systemic sclerosis.<br />Competing Interests: Les auteurs n’ont déclaré aucun conflit d’intérêts en relation avec cet article.
