Viscosity-sensitive NIR probe for in vivo imaging of early-stage hepatic fibrosis.

Herein, a viscosity-sensitive and hepatic-targeted NIR fluorescent probe has been developed for early diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis. Importantly, we observed increased liver viscosity upon CCl ₄ -induced hepatotoxicity and decreased liver viscosity after metformin treatment, which confirmed its high clinical application prospects.
