Abstract

Multiple myeloma is one of the most frequent hematological malignancies in the elderly and corresponds to the presence of a plasma cell clone. Antitumor treatment combines different therapeutics, including alkylating agents, high-dose corticosteroids, immunomodulators and proteasome inhibitors. These treatments can have cardiovascular side effects that are important to be aware of. The role of the cardiologist is essential in preventing, detecting and managing these effects properly in order to improve the cardiological and oncological prognosis of patients.<br /> (Copyright © 2022.
