Abstract
- Phytoplasmas enhance transmission by manipulating plant architecture. Recently, Huang et al. report that SAP05, an effector from a phytoplasma that causes witches' broom, targets host transcription factors for proteasomal degradation by binding host ubiquitin receptor RPN10. These findings provide opportunities for engineering phytoplasma-resistant plants and developing protein therapeutics.<br /> (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.)
