Abstract

Coercive measures such as seclusion and restraint, which are sometimes used in psychiatry, remain current practices. According to literature, these interventions are particularly complex for the nurses implementing them. In situations of seclusion and restraint, these professionals focus in particular on the nurse-patient relationship, the patient's safety and the respect of their humanity. Training is possible to help nurses manage these situations and improve their approach to the clinical judgement.<br /> (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.)
