Abstract

Isolated aortic valve repair is an alternative to aortic valve replacement in patients with severe aortic regurgitation. It reduces the risk of prosthesis-related complications, such as thromboembolism and endocarditis, and there is no need for long-term oral anticoagulation. However, repair techniques are technically demanding, especially in bicuspid aortic valves.<br /> (© The Author 2016.
