Abstract

Trisubstituted olefins are reactants in template-directed, solid-state [2+2] photocycloaddition reactions. Whereas hydrogen-bond-based templates afford crystalline assemblies with olefins that are photostable, Ag <superscript>I</superscript> coordination results in carbon-carbon double bonds that react stereoselectively and result in quantitative yield.<br /> (© 2016 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
