Abstract
- Aorticopulmonary paragangliomas are rare middle mediastinal masses that are often treated with surgery. In addition to the technical challenge of resection due to location near critical structures, these paragangliomas can have postoperative complications due to resection of cardiac sympathetic innervation. We present a patient with a nonfunctional aorticopulmonary paraganglioma who suffered from postoperative hypotension and heart block, with inability to tolerate his prior alpha and beta blockade on discharge.<br /> (Copyright © 2020 The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
