Abstract

Introduction: Early detection of malignant laryngeal tumors is crucial but still challenging. And 5-year survival rate depends on a stage of revealing. The aim of the study - assessment of the effectiveness of combined application of narrow band imaging and contact endoscopy in visualization of neoangiogenesis.
Material and Methods: 102 patients were included in this study. All the patients were evaluated by means of narrow band imaging and contact endoscopy.
Results: Combined application of narrow band imaging and contact endoscopy gained a high level of effectiveness: accuracy - 93.9%, sensitivity - 96%, specificity - 93.4%, positive predictive value - 94.3%, negative predictive value - 93.4%.
Conclusion: Combined application of narrow band imaging and contact endoscopy may contribute to early detection of malignant laryngeal tumors.
