Abstract: The successful use of ultrasound-guided fetal umbilical venipuncture and direct intravascular transfusion in a case of severe hydrops fetalis at 28 weeks' gestational age is described. Complete reversal of the hydropic changes was observed in utero. The use of this new technique in fetal treatment of Rh disease is discussed.
