Abstract

Primary cardiac or pericardial tumors are infrequent, metastatic involvement being more common. Cardiac angiosarcoma is a rare primary malignant tumor of mesenchymal origin. It entails a poor prognosis mostly due to frequent metastases at the time of diagnosis, as well as low response to onco-specific treatments. We describe a case of a 74-year-old patient with a primary cardiac angiosarcoma with an infrequent location at pericardium level. We review the literature and the utility of <superscript>18</superscript> F-FDG PET/CT in the initial staging.<br /> (Copyright © 2018 Sociedad Española de Medicina Nuclear e Imagen Molecular.
