Abstract

Ambient-temperature atom transfer radical polymerization of ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate from a surface yields homogeneous, cross-linked polymer films. The absence of polymerization in solution in this "living" procedure avoids physisorption and gives uniform, cross-linked films with controlled thicknesses from 3 to 300 nm.<br /> (© 2001 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH, Weinheim, Fed.
