Abstract

A proton-conducting coordination polymer of anionic one-dimensional (1D) chains of Zn <superscript>2+</superscript> phosphate and protonated imidazole with the formula of [Zn(HPO <subscript>4</subscript> )(H <subscript>2</subscript> PO <subscript>4</subscript> ) <subscript>2</subscript> ](ImH <subscript>2</subscript> ) <subscript>2</subscript> has been used as a novel supercapacitor material in aqueous electrolytes. This material stores charges via a proton-hopping mechanism.
