Abstract
- Fungal infections are usually seen in elderly or immuno-compromised individuals particularly with human immunodeficiency virus infection. In immuno-competent individuals, they seldom present with overt clinical symptoms. In such cases diagnosis is made by combination of tests along with direct microscopic visualization of the organism. We present a case of immuno-competent individual who presented with unexplained fever and found to have Histoplasma capsulatum infection on bone marrow examination.<br /> (© 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.)
