Abstract: The solvothermal reaction between Ce(NO <subscript>3</subscript> ) <subscript>3</subscript> ·6H <subscript>2</subscript> O, 2-amino-isobutyric acid, 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol in MeOH, in the presence of base, leads to the formation of a unique [CeCe ] keplerate cage.
