Abstract

A novel CO releasing material has been prepared via a one-pot synthesis-encapsulation strategy using the hierarchical metal organic framework [Zn <subscript>2</subscript> (dhtp)] (dhtp = 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate) as a host of the photoactivable molybdenum tricarbonyl complex [Mo(CNCMe <subscript>2</subscript> CO <subscript>2</subscript> H) <subscript>3</subscript> (CO) <subscript>3</subscript> ].
