Abstract
- Cardiovascular disease is developed across a lifetime accumulation of risk. Numerous independent and synergistic cardiovascular risk factors can be induced by unhealthy dietary patterns. Epidemiological, mechanistic, clinical, and translational research point to refined sugars, processed and fatty meats, synthetic oils, and sodium as major dietary risk factors. The purpose of this review is to integrate these learnings into key principles for dietary frameworks aimed at improving overall cardiovascular health.<br /> (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc.
