Abstract

The management of early stage differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) with low risk of recurrence has been the subject of much interest and investigation in the recent years. Locally advanced DTC and patients with a high risk of recurrent disease however needs further investigation. This short review will look at what constitutes high risk thyroid cancer, the definition of radioiodine refractory disease, the current management and areas of debate within this clinical setting.<br /> (Copyright © 2016.
