Abstract
- In France, there are 40 000 sudden deaths each year and the cardiac arrest survival rate is less than 10%. The arrival of extracorporeal cardio pulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) offers hope in the event of refractory cardiac arrest in prehospital care. Extending ECPR programmes requires more scientific evidence, training and an evolution of the role of paramedics.<br /> (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.)
