Abstract: Pentaindenocorannulene (C <subscript>50</subscript> H <subscript>20</subscript> , 1), a deep bowl polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon, accepts 4 electrons, crystallizes in columnar bowl-in-bowl assemblies and forms a nested C <subscript>60</subscript> @1 <subscript>2</subscript> complex.
