Abstract
- The effect of lead on the stromal cells of bone marrow in rats was studied in cultures in vitro. Toxic effects of lead were manifested by a decrease in erythrocyte count and hemoglobin level in peripheral blood. Lead stimulated an increase in the number of fibroblasts, while the macrophage count dropped. The number of adipocytes remained unaffected.
