[Effect of ovarian hormones on mast cells in the denervated uterus of rats].

Abstract

In adult rats estradiol was found to enhance functional activity of mast cells, whereas progesterone inhibited substantially this effect. The experiments with denervated uterus revealed that the stimulating estrogen effect on mast cells in its tissues was in part associated with activated neuromediation induced by these hormones.
