Abstract

In the United States, stimulants remain the approved pharmacotherapy of choice for adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Many patients respond to these drugs, but stimulants also have a significant potential for misuse. This article suggests the "universal precautions" approach to reducing these risks while promoting appropriate medication use.<br /> (Copyright © 2015 Cleveland Clinic.)
