Abstract: A case of chronic fetomaternal bloodtransfusion with signs of heart failure is described. More than 200 ml blood were lost into the mother's circulation. Heartfailure did not fully account for the marked enlargement of the liver and the slight splenomegoly, so that reactivation of the extramedullary erythropoesis presumably was an additional causative factor for it.
