Abstract
- Protons and carbon ions currently are the most used charged-particle therapies in the cancer treatment of humans. This review summarizes the physical and biological differences and their impact on clinical use. Furthermore, published data in the treatment of several tumor entities and the use of protons and carbon ions are collected and discussed.
