Abstract: The safety of isoparaffins as used in cosmetic products is reviewed in this safety assessment. These ingredients function mostly as solvents and also function as emollients in the 0001% to 90% concentration range. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel has reviewed relevant animal and clinical data and concluded that these ingredients are safe in the present practices of use and concentration described in this safety assessment.
