Abstract

Carotid-cavernous fistulas are abnormal communications between the carotid system and the cavernous sinus. Depending on their direct or indirect nature, they have different clinical manifestations and management. Are discussed in this paper: first the anatomy of the cavernous sinus, then clinical signs, diagnosis, management and differential diagnosis of carotid-cavernous fistulas.<br /> (Copyright © 2010 Elsevier Masson SAS.
