Abstract

Effects of five kinds of dopamine agonists on the activity of type 2A protein phosphatase in rat brain were studied. Apomorphine and SKF-38393 reduced the enzyme activity considerably and their effects were further enhanced in the presence of 10 microM Mn2+. Also, 6,7-ADTN slightly inhibited the activity. The present results suggest that type 2A protein phosphatase in the brain is possibly involved in dopamine mediated protein phosphorylation functions.
