Abstract
- The study of airways pH represents a new perspective in the comprehension of asthma pathogenesis. The effects of acidification may cause symptoms as cough, dyspnoea, wheezing and may be related to gastroesophageal reflux-induced asthma, inhaled acids (pollution, fog, professional exposure) and disregulation of acid-base homeostasis.
