[Diagnosis and treatment of rare hepatic benign and malignant occupying lesions in 42 cases].

Abstract

Objective: To sum up the experience of diagnosis and treatment of rare hepatic benign and malignant occupying lesion (OL) in 42 cases.<br />Methods: The clinical data of 42 cases of rare hepatic benign and malignant OL were reviewed retrospectively.<br />Results: Accordance rate of the imaging diagnosis with pathological result was 23.8%; the diagnostic accuracies of ultrasound B, CT and MRI were 14.3%, 19.4% and 22.2%, respectively. All cases were followed up for 1 - 5 years, no recurrence was found in 32 cases of benign OL post operation, 2 patients with malignant OL has survived for 18 and 36 months respectively, other 5 survived an average time of 7.5 months.<br />Conclusions: It's difficult to make a confirmed diagnosis of rare hepatic benign and malignant OL before operation, combined examination of ultrasound B, CT and MRI can improve accuracy in diagnosis, no recurrence occurred in benign OL after operation, surgery can prolong survival in malignant OL.
