Abstract
- This article describes a qualitative descriptive exploratory study carried out in Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, in 2005, in which the perception of nurses on the Nursing Diagnosis (ND) introduced in the institution, was analyzed. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews with ten nurses working in different units, and were analyzed by the Minayo method, taking into account ethical aspects. Two categories were identified in the ND: positive aspects, and aspects needing improved, each with its subcategories. It was concluded that ND was beneficial to nurses; however, there are still doubts and criticism on this subject.
