Abstract
- Septic thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein is a rare condition with diverse etiologies. The significance of the systemic effects of this condition far exceeds its local implications. Complications occur frequently and may be life threatening. The pathogenesis, histologic features, clinical and imaging aspects of this entity, based on a series of 13 patients, are discussed.
