Abstract: A new 4-(N,N-dimethylamino) phthalimide-based environment-sensitive fluorescent building block for solid phase peptide synthesis, has been synthesized and incorporated into peptides. Peptides incorporating this residue show great potential for biological applications in sensing protein/protein interactions.
