Abstract: Non-invasive or minimal invasive imaging techniques, such as CTA and MRA, are widely used and lead to an increasing number of incidentally diagnosed intracranial aneurysms. This review answers questions regarding pathogenesis, risk of rupture and treatment options. In conclusion, treatment guidelines based on the individual's risk profile are presented.
