Abstract: A case of Chlamydia pneumoniae infection with bilateral pleural effusion and a subsegmental pulmonary infiltrate in an intubated and mechanically ventilated critically ill patient is described. Diagnosis was made by polymerase chain reaction on both pleural effusions.
