Abstract
- Involvement of metabolites of arachidonic acid in electrical responses of rat aortic endothelium evoked by the agonist of aa1-adrenoreceptors, phenylephrine has been investigated. Our experiments suggest that phenylephrine evokes synthesis of thromboxane A2 in the rat aorta that is involved in the phenylephrine-evoked oscillations probably by increasing excitatory effect of the vasoconstrictor on vascular smooth muscle by the mechanism of positive feedback.
