Abstract
- Association of kappa light chain immunoglobulin allotypes with bullous pemphigoid was examined in 101 Caucasian patients. Km alleles were determined by polymerase chain reaction amplification followed by restriction enzyme digestion. The frequency of Km(3)/Km(1,2)kappa light-chain genotype was found to be significantly associated with the disease, while that of the Km(3)homozygous genotype was significantly higher in patients with both anti-BPAG1 and anti-BPAG2 autoantibodies.<br /> (Copyright 2000 Academic Press.)
