Abstract
- Mainly because of migration of young people, the Australian population is young in comparison with the population of other economically developed countries. Fragmentation and excessive reliance on institutions of care of handicapped and elderly people have led to efforts at coordination of services, quality assurance, and a balance between institutional and community-based services.
