Abstract
- Lungworm in cattle can cause severe respiratory disease. Combined with subsequent sub-optimal health and loss of production this leads to economic losses in affected herds. There have been continuing changes in disease pattern dynamics requiring the clinician to re-evaluate treatment and control measures. This article discusses the changing role of lungworm in cattle in the United Kingdom. As well as a parasitological summary, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment and control options are discussed.
