Abstract

The article focuses on the radiochemoecological monitoring of the salt lakes of Crimea, Ukraine. Topics discussed include Chernobyl nuclear power plant (NPP) accident, mercury (Hg), which is considered as the most dangerous chemical pollutants in marine ecosystem, and growth of anthropogenic impact and climate change in the region. Also mentioned are sediments, hydrobionts, and strontium (Sr).
