Abstract

The article discusses the history technology entrepreneurship in the U.S., focusing on how the rate at which successful technology startups have been founded has steadily declined since the 1970s and what that means for technological innovation and entrepreneurship in the U.S. Other topics include the economic implications of the declining number of startups in the U.S., ways that the rate of new businesses can be increased including immigration policy reform, simplifying investing for middle class people, and health insurance reform, and the need to close the gap in wealth inequality in the U.S.
