Abstract
- The author discusses how a lack of concealment of patient allocation may have partially caused the inflation of the perceived benefits of statins. Topics mentioned include the occurrence of unbinding, how more vital biases can happen when a certain situation is downplayed as a non-cardiac problem, and the quantification of bias. Also explored is the solvability of the problem for ongoing and future studies of lipid lowering agents, citing the two solutions that both seem to be unsatisfactory.
