Abstract

A predefined computational particle weight algorithm is presented, and the new method is only depend on free stream number density, free stream mean free path, cell volume and a manual adjusTABLE parameter, which all can be determined before starting the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) simulation. The particles distribution of flow field around flat plate and blunt cone is analyzed. The results show that the number of simulated particles is distributed more uniformly in the whole flow field predicted by present particle weight method than that predicted by constant particle weight method. Simulated molecules can be also reduced effectively without causing any accuracy loss. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
