Abstract

The article offers information on the history, functions and duties of the township government in the State of Indiana. It analyzes the need for reform and transfer of the duties of township government to their respective county based on the recommendation of the Kernan-Shepard Report of the Indiana Commission on Local Government Reform. It also discusses the efficiency and effectiveness of recommendations from the Blue-Ribbon Commission on Local Government Reform.
