Abstract

The article examines the U.S. Stored Communications Act of 1986 (SCA). Topics include the development of laws governing the fiduciary access to digital assets, lawful consent, and U.S. law governing electronic communications. Information is provided on the rights of Internet service providers (ISPs) and authorization to access decedents' personal data.
