Abstract
- The article discusses the population recovery of endangered giant tortoises on the Galapágos island of Española. Topics discussed include the damage to the plants landscape of the island caused by feral goats, the work of biology professor James P. Gibbs who studied the conservation efforts on the island, and the hindrance to the growth of cactus, which is eaten by tortoises.
