Abstract

The solubilities of 2,3-dichloronitrobenzenein aqueous solutionsof methanol and ethanol with various concentrations were determinedat temperatures ranging from (278.15 to 303.15) K under atmosphericpressure of 0.1 MPa. The solubility of 2,3-dichloronitrobenzene increaseswith increments in both temperature and mass fraction of methanolor ethanol. The solubility data were correlated by five models, whichare the Jouyban–Acree model, van't Hoff–Acree model, modified Apelblat–Acree model, Ma model, and Sun model. Thecalculated solubility using the Jouyban–Acree model shows betteragreement with the experimental data than those by the other models. The thermodynamic properties, molar dissolution enthalpy, molar dissolutionentropy, and Gibbs free energy change of dissolution process of 2,3-dichloronitrobenzenein two mixed solvents were calculated.
