Abstract

The article discusses a research study which investigated the timing of antiretroviral therapy (ART) after diagnosis of cryptococcal meningitis. Study results are presented including the mortality rate with earlier ART initiation and with deferred ART initiation, the hazard ratio for death, confidence interval, and the incidence rate of recognized cryptococcal immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome between the earlier-ART and deferred ART patient groups.
